TUM Speakers Series is delighted to announce Dr. Christoph Heusgen, the German Ambassador to the United Nations!
Since 2017 Ambassador Dr. Christoph Heusgen has been the Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations. With Germany being elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2019, Dr. Heusgen is now representing Germany in the world’s most important body for international peace and security.
Before moving to the UN in New York, Dr. Heusgen served as Foreign Policy and Security Advisor to Chancellor Merkel and Director General at the Foreign Office for twelve years.
Ambassador Dr. Heusgen holds a PhD in Economics from the University of St. Gallen.
